While he was gone, Nana came to help me out and spend some time with her grandkids! We played outside, played inside, went to the zoo and out to dinner! After we got kids to bed, she helped me learn the ins/outs of my new sewing machine and we even tackled a couple of sewing projects! :)
My little yahoos on the lions
On the turtle. Clara's last trip to the zoo was about this time last year and she was so little we didn't even take her out of the stroller
Little monkey
Attempting to ride the carousel. Dale loved it..Clara not so much. She started shaking and I ended up holding her the entire ride. Her and Nana got off and Dale and I rode again after that.
Nana helped show Dale how to take care of the goats/sheep
Nana & the kiddos
Dale riding a camel. His comment to his dad when he got home was "Dad, I rode a camel and it really stunk"
Dale is in the "Why?", "How come?", "What for?" phase of life. I think Cozetta and I explained a display at the zoo to him for 5 hours straight. It was cave men using spears to kill a mammoth. He asked over and over what they were doing and then it turned to "why didn't they use a bow & arrow instead". We explained how they were hunting for food and spears were all they had at the time. It took alot to finally get him to quit asking questions. On Sunday evening, he went hunting with his gun & 4 wheeler in the back yard and brought me a bear. Before he pretended to drag it on the porch, he informed me that he had already cleaned all the pee and poop out of it because that stuff is gross and we can't eat it. Oh the little mind of a 3 year old!
It was a fun weekend. We were sure glad to have Bobby back home on Monday!
