Bobby and I celebrated 8 years of marriage this year. We haven't been away alone in several years so we took a mini weekend vacation this year to celebrate. We dropped the kids off with Grammy & Pops and headed to Kansas City. We had a nice hotel within walking distance to a great outdoor shopping/dining area. We had a yummy dinner at PF Changs the first nite(we ate there on our honeymoon) and enjoyed a nice stroll to get some coffee. The next day we compromised and spent the morning (our morning started around 10 am...oh to have a day without kids) at the outlet malls. After a few hours of shopping, we headed to our afternoon destination.
Neither of us had been to a Cabela's store so we had a good time just roaming around for a few hours.
That evening we ate another wonderful meal and enjoyed another coffee walk. We added a stop for dessert at Cheesecake Factory at the end of our walk that night! :)
Sunday we got up and went to tour the WWI museum. It was a very neat place and because of Memorial Day, they had a vehicle display on the lawn.
It was a great weekend. We were glad to get back to the kiddos but I sure enjoyed the maids, waitresses and quiet time with my husband for a couple of days :)
